Fish to Make a Difference “Heals through Adventure” at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show!
A community-supported, volunteer powered, nonprofit organization, Fish to Make a Difference will be hosting a booth and sharing its mission with the boating community/marine industry at the 2018 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 31 – November 4, 2018. Booth space has been generously supplied by the International Game Fish Association (IGFA).
Fish to Make a Difference “heals through adventure” by providing fishing trips free of charge. to children battling cancer and other life-threatening illnesses and their families. The organization works closely with Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to identify families that would most benefit from a day of family fun and relaxation while in the midst of one of the most trying experiences parents can face.
Each visitor to the Fish to Make a Difference booth, located in the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center, in or near rooms 124 & 125, will receive a FREE Fish to Make a Difference membership card kindly donated by Strumento Marino. The card is valid for one year from date of issue. By presenting the card, holders receive a variety of discounts offered by area merchants such as A & V Auto Center, Bru’s Room Sports Grill, Agave Azul, Dusky Sports Center, National Reporting Services, JM Designs & Assoc., Inc. Lester’s Diner, Saltwater Professional Consulting and many more.
Strumento Marino has donated 5 of their best-selling dive watches for raffle throughout the event. Additionally, a work by renown marine photographer Tony Ludovico will be auctioned off. All proceeds from both the raffles and auction will benefit Fish to Make a Difference.
Fish to Make a Difference will be presenting “Chair Fighting Challenges” between 10 AM–noon and 4-7 PM before and after IGFA School of Sports fishing seminars. Participants of all ages welcome!
